How TVS iQube Made a Million-Customer Milestone Feel Personal

One million customers is a landmark worth pausing for. For TVS iQube, the number represents not just the scale of its journey since launching in 2020, but also the growing acceptance of electric two-wheelers among Indian consumers.

But when it came to marking that moment, TVS Motor found an interesting way to make a milestone of that scale feel personal.

It began with a conversation between two scooters.

An open letter from TVS Jupiter to TVS iQube opened with two simple words: Dear Bro.

What follows is less like a conventional milestone announcement and more like an exchange between two members of the same family. TVS Jupiter, which has spent more than a decade becoming a familiar name on Indian roads, acknowledges TVS iQube as it reaches one million customers, giving the occasion a sense of continuity without turning it into a product comparison.

That is what makes the creative approach interesting. The campaign takes a number that is difficult to visualise and gives it a much more relatable frame: one scooter speaking to another.

The wider significance of the milestone remains important. Since its launch in 2020, TVS iQube has grown alongside India’s evolving electric mobility landscape, with one million families now having chosen the scooter. Collectively, TVS iQube riders have travelled billions of kilometres, contributing to lower carbon emissions along the way.

But rather than making any one of these numbers do all the storytelling, the campaign gives the milestone another dimension through the relationship between TVS Jupiter and TVS iQube.

The idea was extended through a special front-page takeover with The Times of India, where the masthead was transformed into “The EV of India”, with the one-million milestone and the open letter taking centre stage.

The execution carries the idea further. Handwritten elements, photographs and illustrations give the page the visual language of a personal note rather than a conventional corporate announcement.

It is a small creative detail in the context of a very large milestone, but that contrast is precisely what makes the execution work.

The campaign doesn’t need to explain the relationship between the two scooters at length. The familiarity of TVS Jupiter, the newer journey of TVS iQube and the opening “Dear Bro” establish it almost immediately.

And importantly, the two aren’t positioned as rivals or as one replacing the other. The communication allows them to represent different chapters of the same brand journey.

There is, of course, a much larger story behind one million.

When TVS iQube entered the market in 2020, electric two-wheelers were still building their place in mainstream mobility. Today, the milestone reflects how significantly that landscape has evolved, with electric mobility becoming an increasingly familiar choice for Indian consumers.

The billions of kilometres travelled by TVS iQube riders also give the number another dimension, demonstrating how individual choices can collectively contribute to a broader environmental impact.

Yet the campaign doesn’t need to turn every aspect of that journey into a headline. The numbers establish the scale. The creative idea gives that scale a human expression.

And perhaps that is the most interesting part of the communication.

A million customers is ultimately a statistic. A conversation between two familiar scooters is a story people can immediately understand.

By bringing Jupiter and iQube together, TVS Motor has found a way to mark a significant business and category milestone while keeping the communication rooted in something far more familiar: the feeling of being welcomed into the family.
