Social media was recently flooded with stories and speculation around how potentially extravagant Jeet Adani’s wedding would be. But then something different happened.
Gautam Adani announced how his son’s wedding would be a simple and traditional affair. And on the same note, he announced something massive and meaningful: a donation of a whopping 10,000 crore rupees! (Yes, that’s 11 zeroes)
This generous sum is intended to be used for infrastructure-building initiatives across areas like healthcare, skill development and education.
Here’s a glimpse into what’s being planned:
#1: Making waves in Healthcare

Adani Health City is starting with two big goals:
– Two 1,000-bed multi-super-specialty hospitals
– Medical colleges in Mumbai & Ahmedabad
The outlay? 6,000 crore rupees, being fully borne by the Adani family.
They have teamed up with USA’s Mayo Clinic, the world’s largest integrated not-for-profit medical group practice, to get technical expertise in the healthcare sector.
What these Adani Health Cities seek to change is the cost of healthcare in the country. Their mission is to provide affordable yet state-of-the-art medical care and education to all segments of the society.
With an annual intake of 150 undergraduates, 80+ residents and 40+ fellows, the medical colleges in itself aim to train a chunk of the next generation of doctors and focus on research in tandem with AI and biomedical informatics.
#2: Accelerating skill development with work ex
The goal? To develop India’s largest ‘Skill and Employ’ program to support ‘Make in India’! The donation? 2,000 crore rupees.
Here too, the Adani Group partnered with leaders in the field: ITE Education Services (ITEES) of Singapore, a world leader in providing career oriented technical and vocational training and a key developer of national occupational skills certification and standards.
With their expertise, the Group aims to build a skilled talent pipeline to serve the needs of various upcoming industries like Green Energy, Manufacturing, Hi-tech, Project Excellence and Industrial Design.
How do they plan on doing it? By setting up internationally benchmarked finishing schools called Adani Global Skills Academy.
- The Academy will select students from technical and vocational educational backgrounds
- The students will then be certified in their chosen field of study
- Then they would be employed in the Adani Group and the broader industry The idea is to ensure trained professionals who are first-day, first-hour, industry ready.
The first finishing school, targeted to be the world’s largest finishing school for technical training, will be established in Mundra, Gujarat. It will impact 25,000 learners annually.

Here’s what the Adani Group has to say about this partnership:
“This partnership is critical to our initiative as a Group to build high-level technical talent and is in line with our commitment towards the Make-in-India focus across our portfolio. With deep engagement across academic quality assurance, certification-led learning pathways, faculty and student exchange programs and leadership development, this
partnership will embed the best of application-led learning to support industries across sectors, thus contributing to Viksit Bharat,” said Mr Robin Bhowmik, CEO of Adani Skills & Education.
#3: Creating education opportunities for all
This initiative aligns with both nation building and making strides in education.
In partnership with GEMS Education, a global leader in the private K12 education space, the Group is out to establish a diverse range of world class schools across the country.
These schools will adopt a global curriculum combining the best of Indian study boards to create new age learning skills that are imparted using experiential learning, strong academic discipline and learning pedagogy curated towards offering differentiated career pathways for the youth of our country.
What the Group realised is beyond infra, this dream required teaching capabilities and they’re establishing research institutes for the same!

In summary
The 10,000 crores donation towards various causes is deeply rooted in Adani Group’s philosophy of ‘seva over self’. It’s exciting to see how this unfolds, and the multi-fold positive impact that this will hopefully generate across India.
