This Billboard Outside SpaceX’s HQ Is Dissing Elon Musk

Elon Musk is a man with a mission. The CEO of Tesla, is also the founder, CEO, CTO, and chief designer of SpaceX.

With ambitions of making humanity ‘multiplanetary’, Musk has been investing huge amounts of money on research and development for life on Mars. He hopes to build a self-sustaining colony on the red planet by 2050.

Prior to Earth Day this year, Musk was trolled by a billboard outside the SpaceX headquarters in California that read ‘Mars sucks’.

The billboard was put up by Activista, a creative agency, to highlight an important message: Instead of colonising another planet, sustaining life on Earth should be prioritised.

“What doesn’t suck? Earth. But the way we treat it frankly, sucks,” the company explained on Twitter.

The ad was sponsored by a group of environmental organisations including Greenpeace, World Wildlife, Surfrider, and the EDF.
