A few years ago when cryptocurrency first began gaining traction, many looked at it as a fad that would soon die out.
Today, we’re living and breathing in the age of blockchain technology and decentralised digital currencies. Cryptocurrencies have skyrocketed in popularity, and are transforming the way we look at investment portfolios all over the world.
One of India’s leading crypto exchange platforms, CoinSwitch Kuber, has recently hit the 1 crore user mark. Titled ‘Kuch Toh Badlega’, CoinSwitch Kuber’s campaign showcases the power of cryptocurrency and how it has risen to become a serious investment asset class.
The campaign was planned out strategically, with the brand film being released one day before the commencement of the much awaited Indian Premier League in order to hijack the narrative. The new ad film was launched on national television for the first time, and is cheeky both literally and figuratively.
While it doesn’t exactly guarantee leaving work early or sending all your boss’ emails to spam, the ad shows that investing in crypto will ensure that something will inevitably change, if not today then tomorrow. Within hours of posting the video on its social media accounts, the campaign hashtag started trending on Twitter.
Major social media influencers such as Bhuvan Bam, Rannvijay Singha, Sunil Grover and Sunil Chhetri were also onboarded to drive the campaign. Each of these influencers has more than a million followers, which guarantees a mammoth reach.
The platform also took out print ads in 19 publications all over the country, asking people to cut out and preserve the price of Bitcoin and compare the figure in the cutout with the price a few months from now.

While we might be living in the online world, print newspapers still have a combined circulation of crores of people, which many users on social media were quick to notice.
Leveraging the power of social media, CoinSwitch also drove conversation about cryptocurrency with a meme contest in which 25 winners won Bitcoin worth Rs. 5000 each. Netizens put their best foot forward:

In addition to all of this, CoinSwitch is also offering new users an incentive – Bitcoin worth Rs. 100 to start their crypto journey with.
By tapping into the power and reach of influencers with millions of followers, television with viewership of crores of people, along with clutter breaking print and social media advertising, CoinSwitch is showing the world how cryptocurrency has not only risen in popularity, but is creating aspiration for it in budding investors.
