Victims of abuse are rarely left alone, so reaching them takes something disguised as completely ordinary.
One campaign turned a fruit stand in the supermarket into a lifeline.
1. How apples were used to secretly offer help to abuse victims in public places.
2. Victims of abuse are watched carefully and rarely left alone. It’s important to reach them in a discrete way and offer help.
3. Supermarkets and grocery stores are typically the only places abusers may allow their victims to go to.
4. So this campaign set up a special display of apple stands at those locations.
5. Upon first glance, the stand looks like a normal fruit display…
6. However, on closer inspection, the bruised fruits expose the rotten truth of abuse.
7. Each fruit has a sticker with crucial information and a helpline number printed on it to get life saving info in the hands of women who need it.
