The President of the United States of America, yes we all know who the person is, took to Twitter claiming that he turned down TIME Magazine’s ‘Person of the year’ honour for this year. And things got really weird after that. Let’s take you through the story. Here’s what he tweeted :
Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!

Straightaway, people thought something was fishy and no one was buying his claim.

It indeed was a lie after all, as TIME took to Twitter clarifying the whole situation in what can be regarded as a very embarrassing situation for Trump.
The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6.

But Linda had no chill, and she got real savage.
You misspelled "trump lied".

Then came the photo-shoppers.

This one was our favourite.

Until someone gave a very legit nomination for Person of the Year.
@elonmusk should easily be chosen as Man of the Year. I mean let’s be real the guy is changing transportation as we know it…

He tweeted, “I told you @TIME Magazine would never pick me as person of the year despite being the big favorite. They picked [the] person who is ruining Germany.”
In fact there were also claims that he has several fake issues of the magazine hanging in various of his properties with his face photoshopped on the cover. He hasn’t responded to TIME Magazine’s tweet yet, and we are waiting for what happens next.
Meanwhile, here are those in the running for the 2017 “Person of the Year”
Ariana Grande, Emma Stone, Jimmy Kimmel, Mark Zuckerberg, Patty Jenkins, Serena Williams, Rose McGowan, Colin Kaepernick and Taylor Swift.
