Ever forgotten something in an Uber? You’re not alone.
Each year, Uber releases its Lost and Found Index that chronicles the items riders leave behind in cabs. The report also highlights interesting facts like which cities have been most forgetful, which times of day and days of the week riders forget items most.
The most common item to be left behind in cabs for the umpteenth year in a row was the mobile phone. Camera, wallet, keys, headphones, glasses, vapes and water bottles were the other usual suspects that made it to the list of the top 10 most forgotten items – no surprise there.
But along with the commonly forgotten items, the ride hailing app also gives us a look into the most unique items lost in an Uber. 2020’s hall of fame included a ouija board that’s used to talk to spirits, mice for a pet snake to eat, and a cooler of breastmilk. Here’s a list of bizarre items riders forgot in the 2021 index that stood out:
- 22 bundt cakes and a pan of mac and cheese
- A Harry Potter wand
- A dog’s ashes
- Leopard print pink bikini
- Rabbit legs
- An FBI vest
- A cooler full of fish
- A birth certificate
- A large painting of Kate Middleton and a small painting of the grim reaper
- Crystal chandelier
- One pound of smoked salmon
- A prosthetic leg
- A toilet seat
- A green dinosaur Halloween costume and a knife (that is needed for job)
- Sushi platter
We can only wonder what kind of job that knife was needed for.
