California Police Is Rewarding Organ Donors By Waiving Their Tickets

Drivers in California who ran stop signs, or were found speeding were given a second chance by the police forces, if they were registered organ donors. The California police believes that these drivers earned a second chance, by giving someone else a second chance at life.

In partnership with Donate Life California’s “Second Chances” programme, the California police agreed to let drivers off in the month of April, with warning after minor traffic violations, as long as their licenses showed that they were registered organ donors. After this campaign was responsible for raising more awareness about the need for more organ donors, the programme was also adopted by the police in Calgary in Canada.
