This Campaign Salutes The Brave Spirit Of Gorkha Soldiers Which Lives Inside Each Nepali

Gorkha Beer is that one brand which certainly does not follow the crowd and stands apart from its contemporaries in terms of the philosophy it carries, and the message it tries to put across. Previously, Gorkha Beer had highlighted the immense pride of being a Gurkha, and the nationalistic spirit of being a Nepali. This time around, the brand takes a step further and showcases the bold, brave and courteous people of Nepal who are proud to be drinking their locally brewed Gorkha beer which without fail captures the essence of who they are and what they believe in.

While other beers may portray themselves as a chilled drink by your side as you are having a good time, Gorkha Beer doesn’t put itself in the box of portrayal of euphoric sentiments of having a good time. As, Gorkha Beer is always striving to think outside of the six packs of beer, and rather reflect the true value of the name “Gorkha”. This is well reflected in the new campaign, where the reoccurring theme of what being a Nepali means have been captured – “Brave”.

Before moving into this latest campaign, Gorkha’s previous digital campaign launched earlier this year aimed at communicating the personality traits which identify with BRAVE Gorkha soldiers. Gorkha aimed to capture the essence of the personalities and character traits that make these soldiers who they are. Words like disrespect, disloyalty, discourteous are the opposite of what define the Gorkha soldiers and in a very simple animation, the brand (bottle’s shadow) eliminates the prefix thus reminding us that respect, loyalty and courteousness are what people of sterner stuff are made up of.

Following up on the last campaign, this latest campaign highlights the phrase “Hami Gorkhali” (Hami meaning US), which jogs up a lot of sentimental value for a Nepali. Gorkha Beer has yet again hit the bull’s eye by associating the beer to the charismatic values of a Gorkha. The motif is seemingly integrated through the silhouette of “Khukuri”. All of this in the backdrop formed by the shadow of Gorkha Beer bottle resembles the values that brand has been campaigning for and wants to be associated with.

It is something new and when you are drinking Gorkha Beer it gives you the sense of owning the beer and also earning the beer. This unique beer brand has hit close to home as you feel like a Gorkhali with every sip and it is no surprise to see all various brand pundits applaud to the idea.

KHUKURI: Khukuri, a Nepalese knife specific to Nepal, is a characteristic weapon of the Nepalese Army, the Royal Gurkha Rifles of the British Army, the Gorkha regiments of the Indian Army, and of all Gurkha regiment throughout the world. The kukri often appears in Nepalese heraldry and is used in many traditional rituals.
